Ironically, Senator Tom uses AFK Farming because he has a life.

Try this if you dont get disconnected at night. I would go to Turias Procession and get the lightbringer hunt there. I know its only 1 point. Then over in the eastern part you can lure 3 of the elementals. Kill them. Stay there. They RESPAWN. go to bed. get up and you have about 1k more points.

Thanks for reading this thread. This was nerfed a while back already.

I'm still curious about this 'right afk build'. You kill the guy, get points...not seeing how this is wrong...or how your build affects you...

It doesn't. Your build is totally irrerevrent.
What's important are your heroes' build, and choice of henchies, choice of torment, and positioning of your crew.

1. GuildWiki isn't always right or up-to-date.
2. Vanquisher is right.
3. Provided GuildWiki is working right now, I'm going to edit the article.

The question is, is AFK farming Lightbringer Points from duplicated Spear of Torments an exploit, or is it as Gaile would say "creative game play"..

After all, it is not doing anything that the game was not designed to do. Spear of Torments are meant to duplicate, you are supposed to be able to get blessings to get Light Bringer points, and it is perfectly legitimate to balance a team of hench/heros to kill them at the right speed.

If ANet decide it is an exploit, technically they could ban people who have used this method.

If it is "creative game play", then there won't be any bans (it does need a nerf though), but it does devalue the Lightbringer Title considerably.

Personally I expect it to be nerfed in some way with this weeks update.

I wouldn't consider it an exploit as the title can be raised far, far faster manually. Margonite slaughter in Secrets ftw ^^

Afk farming doesn't exploit any bugs (as far as I can tell), so I would say it falls into the same category as 55ing. The individual game mechanics all seem to work as intended, but the designers may not have forseen the combined result.

EDIT: following forum policy

You'll get 200+ pts per hour while afk.
You can have 2 groups of heroes(or henchies) fighting 1 spear of torment each. I don't know how many points you can earn per hour though.

http://img472.imageshack.us/img472/4...inging2jl1.jpg

Group 1:
Koss: Tiger's Fury; Sever Artery; Gash; Standing Slash; Galrath Slash; Silverwing Slash; Dragon Slash [E]; Resurrection Signet
Tahlkora: Reversal of Fortune; Guardian; Protective Spirit; Life Sheath [E]; Mend Condition; Aegis; Power Drain; Rebirth
Dunkuro: Word of Healing [E]; Orison of Healing; Dwayna's Kiss; Healing Touch; Healing Seed; Mend Condition; Remove Hex; Rebirth

Group 2:
Devona
Mhenlo
Kihm
Gehraz

When you go out take the bounty and look for a group with the Spear of Torment. Kill everything but one SoT. Break aggro, then send in group 1. When it is using Call to the Torment, break aggro again. Now that you have 2 SoT, wait for them to patrol around until they are a distance from each other. Find a position for group 1, and pull one of them over. (the other SoT will not follow) Send in group 2 to the other SoT.

*Sometimes this method will fail and Sot will overspawn, I have yet to find out the reason for this though.
** I suppose if you put the two groups far away from each other, even if one group dies due to overspawn, the other will continue to fight. (Make sure that both groups are on your compass)
*** The quoted method is of course safer.

Care to share this other build that works so well?
Using Sedna's build posted above I am gaining 450pt/hour.

I would like to thank Sedna for posting an actual build for people though instead of just saying "yeah you can afk this with heros and henchies" or "there is a much better build than that, but I aint tellin you what it is".

Thanks again Sedna!

Forum policy: Either post a build, or don't talk about it. That had better end the discussion unless someone posts a build that works better than the 200/hr build.

Rightly so, and while one group of torment can only spawn up to a maximum number of 7~8, setting up 2 or more groups in near by locations would net you more.

Currently running a build that gives you 1k LB/hr.

I've tried Sedna's build and it works good. It's funny because my Koss, Dunkoro, and Thalkora all have almost the EXACT same skills already except for Koss having WoM, Watch Yourself!, and Shields Up! Mhenlo was pretty much identical and Talhkora was using Zealous Benediction instead. I'm doing this in the Nightfallen Jahai and it seems that you can even handle 3 groups at one time in another real where your skills aren't so reduced...

Well, I adjusted my usual method... and tried two teams with bonder.
I just set this up right now, I'll see if the rate of lb point gaining has increased.

EDIT: deleted the image, as it only increased my gain by 30%
I'm gonna make adjustments, to increase firepower. I just gotta make sure they don't overwhelm them, or get overhwhelm.
